Contractors will be conducting blasting work at the site of the new long-term care facility located at 90 Finnegan Drive in Picton.
- Blasting work will occur on weekdays from 8 am – 5 pm, beginning on Tuesday, May 28 through to Wednesday, June 11.
- Blasting is anticipated to occur on the following dates:
- May 28, 29, 30
- June 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
- June 9, 10, 11
- On the above dates, there will be multiple blasts during the day.
- Noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the blasting and vibrations may be felt in the area.
- The contractor has delivered printed notices about the blasting to residents living near the construction site.
- Over the next several years, the municipality will construct a brand new 160-bed facility on four acres of municipally owned land adjacent to the existing long-term care home. The current H.J. McFarland Memorial Home will remain in operation while the new building is under construction.
