Boil water advisory lifted for all users in Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System

July 20, 2023

The boil water advisory for all users in the Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System has been lifted by the Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit.

  • Affected users can resume normal use of municipal drinking water without bringing it to a boil.
  • The Consecon/Carrying Place Drinking Water System receives water from the Trenton Drinking Water System (DWS). The boil water advisory was implemented as a result of an emergency shutdown to repair a critical watermain break in the Trenton DWS. Operators of the Trenton DWS have conducted repairs to their system.
  • Sampling in both the Consecon/Carrying Place DWS and the Trenton DWS have confirmed that water being received and used in the Consecon/Carrying Place DWS meets provincial water quality standards and is safe to drink and use for all domestic purposes.
  • The municipality recommends that affected users flush household plumbing through the cold water tap until water runs cold to the touch.
  • The County will reopen on Friday, July 21 the coin-operated bulk loading station in Carrying Place.
  • The County is committed to providing a consistent supply of safe drinking water to all consumers of The County’s municipal drinking water systems.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
