As part of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, the Poverty Reduction Steering Committee is working toward a community-wide poverty reduction strategy for Prince Edward County. This strategic approach will aim to reduce or eliminate poverty in the area through collaboration and building on existing community strengths. The community conversations will help gather input to support the strategy.

For more information, please contact Hilary Fennell, Community Initiatives Coordinator, at hfennell@pecounty.on.ca or 613.503.0187.

In addition to Poverty Reduction, The County’s Community Safety and Well-being Plan focuses on the following key areas:

  • Seniors Support
  • Housing and Homelessness
  • Mental Health and Problematic Substance Use
  • Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence and Intimate Partner Violence

Each area includes recommended strategies that were developed by community partners, using in-depth data and local information. Visit the municipality’s website to learn more about the Community Safety and Well-being Plan.
