Community organizations can apply now for a Municipal Community Grant

February 3, 2026

The Municipal Community Grants program is now accepting applications.

The Municipal Community Grants provide financial or in-kind support to community organizations that provide programs, services or activities in culture, heritage, recreation, environment, and health and human services. This program puts community tax dollars to work supporting important local initiatives for residents to enjoy.

For 2026, Council approved a total of $149,057 available for cash grants, $20,000 for in-kind support, and a further $50,000 contribution from the Municipal Accommodations Tax for the PEC Arts Fund.

  • Cash Grants: The maximum cash grant amount per organization is $15,000; the typical grant amount per organization is between $3,000 and $5,000.
  • In-Kind Grants: The maximum in-kind grant amount per organization is $2,000. In-kind refers to services or resources offered by the municipality (use of municipal venues, services, equipment, etc.) as valued by the Fees and Charges By-Law.
  • PEC Arts Fund: Arts organizations can apply to the PEC Arts Fund for cash grants, rather than the Municipal Community Grants Program. The PEC Arts Fund supports organizations that have a stated mandate to provide services, programs and amenities in the realm of the arts (including but not limited to visual, performing and performance, literary, media and decorative arts). For more information about this fund, visit The County Foundation website or register for the webinar

To learn more about the grant program, how to apply, and tips for a strong application, register for an online webinar scheduled for Tuesday, February 17 at 11 am. To learn about the impact of the Community Grants program in our community, watch The County Foundation’s presentation to Council here.

The County Foundation administers all streams of grant applications on behalf of the municipality. Application forms and more information are available on The County Foundation website. The deadline to apply for a grant is Monday, March 2 at 4 pm.
