NOTICE: Construction work on Elizabeth Street (Picton) February 19

February 18, 2026

The Water and Wastewater Department will be performing construction work on Elizabeth Street between Mary Street and Picton Main Street on Thursday, February 19.

  • Repairs will begin at approximately 8 am, with an expected completion time of 6 pm.
  • Elizabeth Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic. However, further traffic disruptions may be required, including closing this section of Elizabeth Street to local traffic only.
  • Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are advised to follow the direction of flaggers on scene or use alternate routes if possible.
  • Construction is being completed in the sidewalk area on the west side of the street. The sidewalk will remain closed to pedestrian traffic in the construction area.
  • Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
  • There will be no disruptions to water service for the customers in the area. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
