Construction on Niles Street and West Street (Wellington) January 28

January 28, 2025

The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct emergency watermain repairs on Niles Street, at the intersection of West Street in Wellington on Tuesday, January 28.

These repairs are not related to the on-going construction of the Wellington trunk watermain and sanitary sewer.

  • Repairs will begin today, January 28, at approximately 9 am, with an expected completion time of 6 pm.
  • West Street between Second Avenue and Niles Street will be closed with local traffic only permitted for the duration of repairs. Traffic control will be in place to redirect traffic.
  • Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
  • These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on West Street and Niles Street in the construction area may experience an interruption to service, pressure fluctuations and/or coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
  • If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
