March 13, 2024

Prince Edward County businesses are invited to take part in a free fraud awareness training event presented by A/Sgt. Aaron Bucci of the Prince Edward OPP and participating Police Foundations students from Loyalist College.

  • This training will take place on Wednesday, March 27 at Wellings of Picton (15 Wellings Drive) from 12 pm – 2 pm.
  • This workshop will bring fraud awareness to the forefront of the storefront. The training will educate and empower local businesses to understand the signs of fraud, how to stop fraud and what to do if it happens.
  • Businesses who complete the training will be “certified” as a Fraud Aware Business and can display a Fraud Aware Business sticker in their storefront window, website and social media. They will also be listed on the County’s website as a Fraud Aware Business.
  • This program is presented in partnership with the County of Prince Edward, the Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association, Loyalist College, OPP Prince Edward County detachment, Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce, and the Prince Edward County Community Safety and Well-being Plan.
  • This program is made possible by funding provided by the Government of Ontario. (Financement octroyé par le gouvernement de l’Ontario)
