The County of Prince Edward is offering a Municipal Climate Internship opportunity from January 2025 – July 2025.
The internship, hosted by Environment Leadership Canada (ELC), is open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 30.
Through this full-time, six-month internship, the intern will develop a deep understanding of how the municipality operates and contribute to Prince Edward County’s work to tackle climate change. The successful candidate will become well-versed in municipal government and politics through research, communications, mentorship, and project work.

The County of Prince Edward in 2021 joined the Partners for Climate Protection (PCP) program. The PCP program is a national network of more than 400 municipalities with the shared goal of taking action against climate change and reducing local greenhouse gas emissions.
As a member of the PCP program, the municipality is committed to moving through the five-step milestone framework. The municipality is currently on step three, which involves developing a local climate action plan. Click here to learn more about the program and the milestones.
