The County of Prince Edward is encouraging all residents to prepare their mailboxes for the upcoming winter season.
- Mailboxes should be checked to ensure they are structurally sound. Posts that have rotted or are in otherwise poor condition are susceptible to damage from heavy snow.
- The County does not replace units that are damaged by pushed slush or snow.
- If a mailbox is struck and damaged as a result of winter road operations and is deemed to have been in good condition and in compliance with Mailbox Encroachment Policy OPS-03 prior to the incident, the Municipality will replace the damaged unit with a standard mailbox per the Policy.
- Residents are encouraged to review and understand the Mailbox Encroachment Policy.
- Sign up to receive news and notices from the County and follow the municipality on Facebook and Twitter/X.
