County residents encouraged to prepare mailboxes for winter

December 4, 2024

December 4, 2024

The County of Prince Edward is encouraging all residents to prepare their mailboxes for the upcoming winter season.

  • Mailboxes should be checked to ensure they are structurally sound. Posts that have rotted or are in otherwise poor condition are susceptible to damage from heavy snow.
  • The County does not replace units that are damaged by pushed slush or snow.
  • If a mailbox is struck and damaged as a result of winter road operations and is deemed to have been in good condition and in compliance with Mailbox Encroachment Policy OPS-03 prior to the incident, the Municipality will replace the damaged unit with a standard mailbox per the Policy.
  • Residents are encouraged to review and understand the Mailbox Encroachment Policy.
  • Sign up to receive news and notices from the County and follow the municipality on Facebook and Twitter/X.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
