County Transit service available for Picton Fair

September 2, 2025

County Transit is your ride to the Picton Fair.

Buses will be operating during the Fair’s hours, with a stop right at the Fairgrounds gates, making it convenient to take the bus and enjoy everything the Fair has to offer.

County Transit is a seamless option for fairgoers coming from Wellington and Bloomfield. The yellow Weekend Summer Connector route connects these towns with Picton every 70 minutes. The last bus will depart the Fairgrounds on Friday and Saturday night at approximately 11:20 pm, conveniently timed for the end of the featured concerts and after the midway closes.

Riders can refer to the County Transit summer schedule for details, or use Google Maps to plan their route and schedule. Advice on how to use transit to get to the Fair is below:

Friday evening (after 5:30 pm), Saturday and Sunday

  • Take the Weekend Summer Connector buses. (Refer to the yellow/blue section on the schedule.)
  • The yellow route connects Wellington, Bloomfield and Picton.
  • The blue route connects Belleville, Rossmore and Bloomfield (with transfers to the yellow route in Bloomfield.)
  • The Weekend Summer Connectors do not normally stop at the Fairgrounds; however, during the Fair, the Crystal Palace stop will be added to the route between the Picton Harbour stop (#6) and the King Street near Ross stop (#9).
  • The bus will swing by the Fairgrounds shortly after the times listed for Macaulay Museum (stop #5). Be ready to board the bus at the Fairgrounds at the stop #5 times.
  • The Crystal Palace stop will be located just outside the Fairgrounds gates on Main Street.

Park in town, ride the bus to the Fair

  • Parking at the Fairgrounds may be limited during the busiest times at the Fair. It is possible to park in town and ride the bus to and from the fairgrounds. There is no charge for riders who are using transit to shuttle between in-town parking and the Fairgrounds. Just tell the driver when you board.
  • We recommend parking in the King Street, Mary Street, or Market Lane parking lots or where parking is permitted on side streets.
  • Board the bus at Mary Street (stop #2) to get to the Fair.
  • On the way back to your vehicle, get off the bus at King Street near Ross (stop #9).

The Summer Weekend Connector service ends on Sunday, September 7, coinciding with the end of the Picton Fair.
