Don’t delay baseball season: stay off diamonds until safe and dry

March 25, 2026

With winter conditions lingering, the County of Prince Edward is asking the public to stay off all municipal baseball diamonds until the fields have fully thawed and are safe for use.

Early use of the fields can cause significant damage and delay the start of the baseball season.

The meeting to allocate baseball diamond time for the 2026 season will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 6 pm at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street, Wellington) in the multi-purpose room.

Update on multi-use courts

Weather permitting, the nets at municipal multi-use courts will be installed in May for the 2026 season. Multi-use courts will then be available on a first-come, first-served basis for casual play.

The meeting to allocate multi-use court time for the 2026 season will take place on Thursday, April 9 at 6 pm at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street, Wellington) in the multi-purpose room.
