Heritage enthusiasts are encouraged to register early for the 2025 Ontario Heritage Conference that will take place June 19 – 21 in Prince Edward County.
Register before Wednesday, April 30 on the Ontario Heritage Conference 2025 website to save $100. Tickets will go up in price on Thursday, May 1. Ticket sales close Sunday, June 8. Admission to all conference events is included in the ticket price, unless otherwise noted.
For those looking to stay in Prince Edward County, it is recommended to book accommodations as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
The County of Prince Edward is hosting the conference in partnership with Community Heritage Ontario, Ontario Association of Heritage Professionals, and Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. A wide variety of sessions are planned over the three-day conference that will expand on the theme How Tourism, Economic Development & The Local Community Benefit from Adaptive Re-Use.
Some of the conference’s highlights over the three-day period include:
- Welcome reception at the Crystal Palace with presentation by local historian Peter Lockyer
- A keynote presentation, moderated by Michael McClelland, Principal of ERA Architects, on the topic “TERROIR: How is heritage conservation the impetus for economic development?”
- A celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Ontario Heritage Act
- A South Shore Adventure Tour presented by ACO PEC
- Tours of several local adaptive heritage sites
- A performance by Tom Wilson and the Mohawk Choir at the Regent Theatre in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day
