The Water and Wastewater Department will be working with contractors to make emergency service leak repairs on Wellington Main Street east of Belleville Street on Wednesday, August 20.
- Repairs will begin on August 20 at 9 am with an expected completion time of 5 pm the same day.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Wellington Main Street east of Belleville Street will experience temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations, and coloured water while repairs are taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- Traffic on Wellington Main Street is not expected to be affected by the repairs. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and take alternate routes.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
