The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct emergency repairs/replacement of a sanitary sewer lateral on Union Street in Picton on Wednesday, January 7.
- Work will take place between approximately 7:30 am and 5 pm.
- Union Street may be reduced to one lane of traffic at the Bridge Street intersection. Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes if possible.
- Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality or sanitary sewer service. Should coloured water be experienced due to vibrations from construction, customers are encouraged to flush the cold water tap closest to the water meter until water runs clear once work is complete.
