Emergency watermain repairs on Wellington Main Street March 9

March 9, 2024

The Water and Wastewater Department will be making watermain repairs on Wellington Main Street between Cleminson Street and McDonald Street in Wellington.

  • Repairs will begin on Saturday, March 9, at 9 am, with an expected completion time of 6 pm, Saturday, March 9.
  • Traffic on Wellington Main Street Street will be reduced to one lane during construction during the repairs. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and take alternate routes.
  • These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Wellington Main Street between Cleminson Street and McDonald Street may experience temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
  • The Wellington Bulk Water Loadng Station will be temporarily removed from service while repairs are underway. Approved haulers requiring service during the time can use the 3″ Picton Bulk Loading Station located at 15 MacSteven Drive, Picton.
  • If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
