The Prince Edward Agricultural Society is hosting a Fall Drive Thru Festival on Saturday September 11, and the Prince Edward Family Health Team will be on site offering a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
The public is encouraged to come to the festival and enjoy the agricultural displays, live entertainment, fair food court and livestock showcase at the drive-thru event. Eligible individuals can help build “community immunity” by getting their first or second vaccination dose at this community event. For more information about the Fall Drive Thru Festival visit www.pictonfair.ca.
The drive through event runs from 9 am to 4 pm at the Picton Fairgrounds, starting at the Macsteven Drive entrance. The pop-up vaccination clinic will be available from 10 am to 3 pm just inside the entrance. The public is invited to visit the clinic to speak with PEFHT staff and have their vaccine questions answered.
Individuals born on or before December 31, 2009 who are looking for their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can receive their vaccine at the pop-up clinic.
The clinic will be run by the Prince Edward Family Health Team and will offer the Pfizer and/or Moderna mRNA vaccines (subject to availability). No appointments are necessary, and the clinic is open to any eligible individual who was born on or before December 31, 2009 (including 11-year-olds who will be turning 12 in 2021).
Individuals requiring their second dose should be mindful that a minimum of 28 days between doses is required. Bring photo ID and your health card.
