Are you interested in running for County Council in the 2026 municipal election?
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is offering a free online workshop for potential candidates in the October 2026 municipal elections.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 8 from 10 – 11:30 am.
This workshop is focused on providing insights to underrepresented candidates seeking election. Led by former municipal councillors Steve Anderson (Town of Shelburne) and Jasvinder Sandhu (Town of Oakville), the 90-minute sessions will cover the following topics:
- Understanding what it takes to become a candidate
- Creating strategies for successful campaigning
- Identifying your target audience
- Developing effective messaging and branding
- Using community engagement practices to enhance visibility and support
While the workshop has a focus on individuals from underrepresented communities, all are welcome!
