H.J. McFarland Memorial Home responding to outbreaks

H.J. McFarland Memorial Home is taking action in response to confirmed respiratory and gastrointestinal outbreaks.

  • Home staff are strongly recommending that visitors wear a mask.
  • Visitors are asked to check with a staff member upon visiting the home to determine what extra precautions they must take to help prevent the spread of the infections.
  • Everyone entering the home must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer. Visitors should follow best practices for hand hygiene to avoid contracting and/or transmitting the infection.
  • People with respiratory and/or gastrointestinal symptoms should avoid visiting the home during the outbreak.
  • Staff at H.J. McFarland Memorial Home are assessing and modifying activities to reduce the risk of transmitting the infection amongst residents and staff.
  • Large group activities are cancelled; however, small group activities will be continued.
