Replacement of the shingled roof at H. J. McFarland Memorial Home will get underway on Monday, June 10.
- This project involves site preparation, barrier installation, removal of the old shingles, replacing eaves starter and ice and water shield, and replacement of the shingled roof with upgraded fiberglass shingles.
- The project will take approximately 15 days to complete.
- The work will take place Monday – Friday during regular business hours.
- The work site will be outside of the home on the roof and surrounding ground area.
- Parking spaces at H.J. McFarland Memorial Home may be impacted during this work. Extra parking will be available at the Wellings of Picton. Motorists are reminded not to park in the fire route and always park 3 metres away from hydrants. Parking spaces at the front entrance will be reserved for emergency vehicles only.
- The work will have a noise impact in resident home areas but will not interfere with resident services.
- The outcome will be an upgraded shingled roof appearance. The new roofing system will continue to offer a watertight seal with an upgraded appearance and longevity of the roofing system.
