Johnson Street soccer fields vandalized

June 6, 2025

The upper Johnson Street soccer field in Picton is currently closed due to acts of vandalism.

Unknown members of the public have driven through the field with a car or truck to intentionally damage the field. Horses and ATVs have also been seen on the playing fields.

This unauthorized use has resulted in the field needing repairs. The field is temporarily closed for use by the Prince Edward County Soccer Association. The lower Johnson Street soccer field remains open for play.

The municipality has notified the local Ontario Provincial Police about the vandalism. If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact the OPP through its non-emergency line, 1.888.310.1122.

County staff will be working with the Prince Edward County Soccer Association to restrict access to the parking lot when soccer programming is not in progress.

For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
