Line painting and pavement marking in urban areas is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 23 during the evening and overnight hours. This work is weather dependent and will include the painting of stop blocks, lane arrows, parking spaces and other markings.
Minor traffic disruptions may occur during line painting. Minimal noise is expected to occur during the work. Orange flashing lights on the work vehicles will be visible.
If you encounter a line painting truck or painting crew on the road:
- Slow down and stay well behind the truck
- Obey the warning signs on the truck
- Wait for the truck to pull over before passing, unless otherwise directed
- Take care to avoid areas delineated with pylons or barrels
- Be patient
Wet traffic paint on the road may splatter on your vehicle if crossed before the paint has dried. Drivers are reminded not to cross the centreline when encountering a line painting crew on the road as it takes approximately two minutes for line painting to dry. Drivers are reminded to obey all closure signs, pylons, and warning trucks.
