Mass vaccination clinics in Picton winding down March 31

March 16, 2022

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health announced yesterday that the mass COVID-19 immunization clinics at the Prince Edward Community Centre will be closing at the end of March 2022 as they transfer to a longer-term vaccination strategy.

All eligible residents who have not yet received their complete vaccination series and booster (if applicable) are encouraged to take advantage of the local clinic while it remains open until March 31.

The remaining clinics at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) are:

  • Thursday March 17 from 12pm to 6pm
  • Thursday March 24 from 12pm to 6pm
  • Thursday March 31 from 12pm to 6pm

No appointments are necessary. These clinics accept walk-ins for all eligible individuals age 5+. To check your eligibility for vaccination, visit the Provincial website.

Beginning in April 2022, vaccination opportunities will be available at the following locations:

  • In Prince Edward County, through regular pop-up clinics hosted by Prince Edward Family Health Team. Dates and locations for these clinics are to be determined. Check the Family Health Team website for clinic dates and times.
  • At local pharmacies. Visit the Provincial vaccine information site for availability.
  • In Belleville at the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health office (179 North Park Street) Visit covid19.ontariohealth.ca or check The HPEPH website for dates and booking information.
  • Through some primary care providers. Contact your primary care provider to discuss availability.

The COVID-19 vaccination clinics have been running at the Prince Edward Community Centre since March 2021. The partnership between Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, the Prince Edward Family Health Team and the municipality allowed thousands of residents of The County access their vaccines close to home.

The municipality would like to express a sincere thank you to the members of local service clubs, County staff and healthcare workers who volunteered countless hours to help run these community clinics.

For more information about COVID-19 vaccine, visit the Hastings Prince Edward Public Health website or talk to your primary care provider.
