Flare training will take place on Baker Island in the Bay of Quinte on Saturday, September 16 between 1 pm and 4 pm.
During this period, flares may be seen and heard in the area. This training is not expected to pose a disturbance to the community.
This training is to provide safety instruction to local boaters on the use and operation of the various types of flares that they are required to carry, enabling community members to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
The Royal Canadian Air Force Trenton Canadian Power and Sail Squadron has partnered with the Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Trenton Yacht Club to conduct the training.
