Military personnel training in Prince Edward County June 11 to 27

Residents and visitors to Prince Edward County are advised that personnel from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) will be conducting training in Prince Edward County from Wednesday, June 11 to Friday, June 27.

  • This is an annual training exercise for CAF personnel. The training will take place within Canadian Forces Detachment (CFD) Mountain View and throughout Prince Edward County.
  • Members of the public may notice an increase in military vehicles and aircraft and see uniformed and non-uniformed military personnel with firearms. Noises associated with explosives and small arms fire may be heard during this time.
  • There is no risk to public safety during this training event. Only simulated and blank ammunition and explosives will be used as part of this training exercise. There will be no road closures or traffic disruptions.
  • Military exercises in urban and rural environments leads to greater expertise and prepares military members for Canadian Armed Forces missions around the world.
