MTO asks for feedback on recommended improvements to Highway 62 / County Road 1 intersection

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is inviting comments on its recommended plan for intersection improvements at County Road 1 and Highway 62.

The recommended plan includes a roundabout.

The Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) is complete and available for public comment from Thursday, November 21 to Friday, December 20. The TESR will be available on the project website. A print copy is available at the following locations:

  • Wellington Public Library (261 Wellington Main Street)
  • Bloomfield Public Library (200 Bloomfield Main Street)
  • Picton Public Library (208 Picton Main Street)
  • Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street)

Residents are encouraged to provide comments in writing to the project team by Friday, December 20:

The MTO retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. to undertake a Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment for intersection improvements at Highway 62 and County Road 1. This study included reviewing existing conditions, developing and evaluating intersection improvement alternatives, and developing environmental protection and mitigation measures.

Visit the project website to review study information including notices and background information. Comments and questions to the study team can also be submitted on the website.

If you have any accessibility requirements in order to participate in this project, please contact one of the project team members listed above. Comments and information are being collected to assist the MTO in meeting the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Information will be collected in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. All comments will be maintained on file for use during the study and, with the exception of personal information, may be included in study documentation and become part of the public record.
