Municipality launches rental housing workshops

September 9, 2024

The County of Prince Edward is excited to present a series of six free workshops on the topic of rental housing.

There will be three sessions for tenants and three sessions for property owners.

“Our hope is to increase the capacity of both tenants and property owners to understand their rights and how they can ensure successful tenancies,” said Elis Ziegler, Affordable Housing Supervisor.  “The municipality understands that this community faces affordable housing challenges. Helping tenants and property owners is one way to stabilize housing and make a difference toward stable tenancies.”

The municipality will be working with local partners to ensure that tenants and property owners receive as much information as possible and can access support programs.

The series of free fall workshops:

  • Tenant fundamentals: Picton Town Hall, September 11, 2 – 4 pm
  • Property owner fundamentals: Virtual, September 25, 10 am – 12 pm noon
  • Housing for new immigrant residents, Virtual, October 9, 10 am – 12:00 pm noon
  • Eviction prevention for property owners, Virtual, October 23, 2 – 4 pm
  • Affordable housing for tenants, Picton Town Hall, November 6, 6 – 8 pm
