February 1, 2023

February 1, 2023

The County has purchased two outdoor rink kits that will be set up at Rossmore Park (779 County Road 28) and Consecon Park (25 Porter Street) this winter. The rinks have been made possible with funding from the federal government.

Recreation and Community Facilities is leading this initiative with support for flooding and maintenance provided by Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue and volunteers.

The rinks should be ready for use in the coming days. Follow the County on Facebook and Twitter for rink updates.

The rinks will be available for use from 7 am to 10 pm daily. Rink maintenance will be conducted each day. Shovels will be available for light maintenance by users.

Users of the outdoor rinks must follow these rules:

  • Skates are required on the ice surface
  • No food or beverages on the ice surface
  • No bullying or negative behaviour
  • No smoking or vaping as per By-law 4247-2018
  • No consumption of alcohol as per provincial regulations
  • No littering as per Municipal By-law 643-2001
  • Helmets and gloves are strongly recommended

The outdoor rinks are available for all to use and should be used at your own risk.

Please be respectful and considerate of the space and users.
