County Council is excited to honour and celebrate the everyday heroes who make our community extraordinary through the Civic Recognition Program award ceremony this fall.
The public is reminded of the upcoming nomination deadline of Tuesday, June 30 at 4:30 pm. Nominate an outstanding resident or group prior to the deadline to shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond. Your nomination will help the municipality recognize people who lift others up, bring the community together, and make the County a better place to live.
Award recipients will be honoured at a special fall ceremony open to friends, family, and the public. Residents of Prince Edward County of all ages – individuals or groups whose volunteer efforts go “above and beyond” – are eligible to be nominated.
Award categories include:
- Amateur Sport
- Bravery / Heroism
- Community / Service Group
- Environment / Sustainability
- Mayor’s Special Achievement
- Outstanding Volunteer
- Youth Leadership
- Youth Volunteer
Nomination guidelines are listed in the nomination form. Nominators may provide additional context or detail in support of their nomination.
To strengthen the submission, nominators may wish to:
- Reference specific examples aligned with the evaluation criteria
- Describe the scope, duration, and impact of the nominee’s contributions
- Explain how the contribution extends beyond normal expectations
This step is intended to ensure the evaluation committee has sufficient information to assess nominations fairly and consistently across all categories. If you have already submitted a nomination, it will remain valid and will be considered as submitted; no action is required. If you would like to add supplementary information, details must be submitted by June 30, 2026.
You can fill out a nomination online at https://www.thecounty.ca/residents/civic-awards/. Paper copies of the nomination form are available at the Customer Service Desk, Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street), Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm.
