NOTICE: Municipal offices closed Thanksgiving Monday

October 7, 2020

Municipal offices will be closed on Monday, October 12 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Shire Hall will reopen on Tuesday, October 13 from 8:30 am – 3 pm.

The customer service counter at the Edward Building (280 Picton Main Street, Picton) will also reopen on Tuesday, October 13. The municipality reminds the public that they must make an appointment for any of the Development Services offered at the Edward Building, including Planning, Building and Engineering. Appointments for these services can be made by calling 613.476.2148 extension 2051.

Garbage and recycling

There is no change to curbside blue box collection on Monday, October 12 in North and South Marysburgh as well as Athol. Quinte Waste Solutions reminds residents to have their properly sorted blue box out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.

Curbside garbage and recycling pickup remains the same for the rest of the week. Have your material out by 7 am on the day of pickup.

The landfill and transfer site in Picton (37 Church Street) will be open regular hours on Saturday, October 10 from 8 am – 4 pm.

Community Centres

Prince Edward Community Centre

The COVID-19 Assessment Centre located at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) will be open on Monday, October 12 from 9 am – 5 pm. Appointments are required. Please call 613.813.6864 to pre-register. Visit Quinte Health Care for more details about COVID-19 testing.

Wellington and District Community Centre

The walking track at the Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) will be open for three one-hour sessions on Monday, October 12 (7-8 am, 8-9 am, and 9-10 am). Ten people maximum per session and pre-registration required. Call 613.476.2148 extension 5041 or extension 5003 to book your session.

A blood donor clinic will take place inside the Highline Hall at WDCC on Monday, October 12 from 10 am – 3 pm. By appointment only. Visit Canadian Blood Services to book your appointment or call 1 888 2 DONATE (1.888.236.6283).
