Pavement markings in urban areas begins August 25

August 23, 2024

August 23, 2024

Line painting and pavement marking in urban areas is scheduled to begin (pending suitable weather) on Sunday, August 25 during the evening and overnight hours. This work will include painting of stop blocks, lane arrows, parking spaces and other markings.

Minor traffic disruptions that are short in duration may occur during line painting. Minimal noise is expected to occur during the work, orange flashing lights on the work vehicles will be present.

If you encounter a line painting truck or painting crew on the road:

  • Slow down and stay well behind the truck
  • Obey the warning signs on the truck
  • Wait for the truck to pull over before passing, unless otherwise directed
  • Take care to avoid areas delineated with pylons or barrels
  • Be patient

Wet traffic paint on the road may splatter on your vehicle if crossed before the paint has dried; therefore, drivers are reminded to obey all closure signs, pylons, and warning trucks. Drivers are reminded to not cross the centreline when encountering a line painting crew on the road; it takes approximately two minutes for line painting to dry.

If you have questions, contact the County at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023, or email info@pecounty.on.ca.
