Line painting and pavement marking in urban areas is scheduled to begin (pending suitable weather) on Sunday, June 28 during the evening and overnight hours.
This work will include painting of stop blocks, lane arrows, parking spaces and other markings. No line painting will occur on Wednesday, July 1.
Painting of yellow and white centrelines throughout the County is scheduled to begin on Sunday, July 19.
Minor traffic disruptions that are short in duration may occur during line painting. Minimal noise is expected to occur during painting operations. Orange flashing lights on the work vehicles will be present.
If you encounter a line painting operation or painting crew on the road:
- Slow down and stay well behind the truck
- Obey the warning signs on the truck
- Wait for the truck to pull over before passing, unless otherwise directed
- Take care to avoid areas delineated with pylons or barrels
- Be patient
Wet traffic paint on the road may splatter on your vehicle if crossed before the paint has dried; therefore, drivers are reminded to obey all closure signs, pylons, and warning trucks. Drivers are reminded not to cross the centreline when encountering a line painting crew on the road; it takes approximately two minutes for line painting to dry.
