Planned watermain and sanitary sewer connection work at 192 Wellington Main Street will occur next week.
- Construction work will take place between Monday, October 6 and Thursday, October 9 starting at approximately 7 am and continuing until 7 pm each day.
- Throughout this time, east-bound and west-bound traffic near 192 Wellington Main Street will be intermittently reduced to one lane, including for overnight periods. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated while work is taking place. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area, take alternate routes where possible, and plan for additional travel time during commutes.
- Work is not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Wellington Main Street between 189 Wellington Main Street and 219 Wellington Main Street and residents on Beach Street will experience temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water on Wednesday, October 8. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction. Affected residents will receive a hand-delivered notice of this water service disruption.
- If coloured water is experienced after water service is restored, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter.
