Province allows short-term accommodations to re-open as of January 31

February 1, 2022

The Province of Ontario has allowed short-term accommodations to return to normal operations once it began easing public health measures as of 12:01 am on Monday, January 31.

The province limited bookings at whole-home and owner/tenant occupied short-term accommodations, cabins, and cottages to those in need of emergency housing on January 5, 2022 as part of measures to limit the spread of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus. That restriction were lifted when the province returned to Step 3 of Roadmap to Reopen on January 31.

The province has also brought in new regulations around social gatherings. As of January 31, social gathering limits are increased to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. Visit the Government of Ontario website for more information on the updated public health measures.
