Public meeting for proposed building permit fee increases scheduled for May 5

April 29, 2021

Council for the County of Prince Edward will hold a statutory public meeting on Wednesday, May 5 in order to consider amendments to the municipality’s building permit fee by-law.

The municipality is proposing increases to some classes of building permit fees to ensure the municipality has the required resources to meet the timelines for issuing building permits and performing the required inspections as set out in the Ontario Building Code.

The upcoming special meeting from 6-8 pm will be conducted virtually due to COVID-19 protocols. The County will stream the meeting live on its YouTube channel.

Members of the public who wish to provide comments during the virtual meeting can do so by contacting Andy Harrison, Chief Building Official, by emailing aharrison@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Tuesday, May 4.

To ensure sufficient information is made available to the public, the proposed building permit fees and additional information have been posted on the County’s Have Your Say public consultation website.
