Contractors retained by the County of Prince Edward will be drilling boreholes on a section of County Road 3 on June 24.
This work is part of the design for the next phase of County Road 3 rehabilitation from Civic Address 1668 to Brickworks Drive. Council approved rehabilitating this 2.0 km stretch of County Road 3 as part of the 2026 Capital Budget. This segment is presently in the design phase, with construction tentatively scheduled for 2027.
- Borehole drilling work will take place between 7 am and 7 pm.
- Work on County Road 3 will take place between civic address 1678 and Brickworks Drive.
- There will be no road closures during this time. Lane restrictions and traffic control will be in place.
- Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes, if possible.
- Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
- The rehabilitation work on this road is part of the Council-approved capital budget.
- The boreholes will help the municipality gain valuable information about the subsurface conditions on these roads. This information will then inform the design of the project.
- The municipality is currently rehabilitating County Road 3 from approximately civic address 1460 on the west side of Rednersville west for approximately 1.1 km to civic address 1668. The project scope includes full removal and replacement of the existing roadway asphalt surface as well as ditching improvements, culvert replacements, and paved shoulders.
