REMINDER: Deadline for Wellington Town Hall expressions of interest August 15

July 30, 2025

The deadline to submit a written expression of interest (EOI) for the Wellington Town Hall is fast approaching.

Interested parties have until 2 pm on Friday, August 15 to share their ideas that will shape the future use of the building for years to come.

Through the EOI process, the municipality can outline specific conditions for protecting heritage values or stipulate any future use for the site. The EOI does not bind the municipality to accept any of the proposals or take any actions.

A similar process was followed for the municipally owned property at 282/284 Wellington Main Street (the former Wellington Convenience Store/Pizzeria). The municipality divested itself of the property through an EOI process after the formation of an internal working group and public consultation.

After receiving the submissions, the Wellington Town Hall Expression of Interest Working Group will host a public meeting where proponents can “pitch” their ideas and the public can weigh in. The Working Group will then prepare a final report with its recommendation for County Council’s consideration.

The Working Group has engaged the community several times to gather feedback. Two in-person consultations and a public survey were offered in late 2024 and early 2025 for public participation. The input from the public helped municipal staff and the Working Group develop the scope of this EOI. Learn more about the project by visiting the County’s Have Your Say page.

To view the EOI documents, register for the bid, or submit a question, please visit the County’s electronic procurement platform.
