Second public information meeting for Fawcettville subdivision scheduled for September 4

August 14, 2024

 August 14, 2024

A second public information meeting for a proposed subdivision development at the western portion of Fawcettville Avenue at the Millennium Trail in Picton will take place on Wednesday, September 4.

The meeting will get underway at 6 pm at the Picton Town Hall (2 Ross Street).

The municipality has received an application to approve a draft plan of subdivision and a zoning by-law amendment. The application, if approved by Council, would result in the property owners receiving permission to develop the site into a combination of 31 single-detached and 54 townhouse dwellings.

Members of the public who wish to attend the meeting are asked to register by contacting Matthew Coffey, Planning Approvals, Coordinator, at mcoffey@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Tuesday, September 3. If you have any questions regarding the location or format of the public meeting, please contact Mr. Coffey.

Materials for the application can be viewed on at the link below:

Planning and Development Committee considered the application at its June 19 meeting. The committee referred the application back to staff to further negotiate with the developer regarding several different items.

At the upcoming public information meeting on September 4, the proponent/agent will present the proposal as well as new information based on the elements within the motion passed by the Planning and Development Committee on June 19. If any member of the public would like to ask questions or make comments, they will be able to do so after the presentation by the applicant.

This public meeting on September 4 is an information meeting only. Public information meetings are held as part of the updated planning application process.

The statutory public meeting required under the Planning Act will be a Planning Committee meeting and would only be held after the public information meeting and when the assigned County planner has completed an analysis of the project.
