Work on the initial stages of installing a new cantilever sign at Bridge Street and Mortimer Street in Picton will begin at 7 am on Tuesday, February 21.
- Installation of a new cantilever sign will replace the existing, smaller sign overtop of Bridge Street near the intersection with Mortimer Street. The sign, which was highly recommended by the Ministry of Transportation, will make it clearer for drivers navigating the intersection. Learn more about the improvements to the Picton town hill.
- Beginning on Tuesday, February 21, contractors will remove the old cantilever sign and start pouring concrete to create a base for the new sign. Work is expected to last the duration of the week.
- The new post and sign are expected to be installed the week of March 6 once the poured concrete has sufficiently cured. More details will be provided as they become available.
- Work is expected to cause minor disruptions along the roadway. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution when near the construction area.
