Temporary overnight road closure on McFarland Drive (Picton) August 20 – 21

August 20, 2026

The County of Prince Edward is advising residents that Hydro One will be completing hydro infrastructure upgrades on McFarland Drive during the overnight hours on Thursday, August 20.

  • McFarland Drive will be closed from Picton Main Street to the Millennium Trail from 11 pm on Thursday, August 20 to 5 am on Friday, August 21.
  • View the map of the road closure.
  • Heavy equipment and contractor vehicles will be parked and operating within the municipal roadway and right-of-way.
  • Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
  • Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
  • To keep our community safe, please obey all posted signs, barriers and directions from authorized personnel.
  • Thank you for your patience and understanding while this important infrastructure work is completed.
