McCumber Painting will be working on the building exterior of 173 Picton Main Street starting on Monday, September 15.
- Work will take place over the next several weeks between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.
- Traffic and pedestrian disruptions are expected on Elizabeth Street during this time.
- Three parking spaces around the building will be unavailable to the public during work hours as they will be occupied with moving trucks and contractor vehicles.
- Traffic control will be present. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes, if possible.
- Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
Why is a permit required?
- Permits help ensure that work within the municipal road allowance is completed safely, properly, and without damage to public infrastructure.
- They also allow the County to coordinate work, minimize disruptions, and protect the safety of all road users.
Road Occupancy Permit (ROP)
- A Road Occupancy Permit is required for temporary use or occupation of municipal property, even if no digging or construction is involved.
