Traffic and pedestrian disruptions on Elizabeth Street (Picton) September 15

September 12, 2025

McCumber Painting will be working on the building exterior of 173 Picton Main Street starting on Monday, September 15.

  • Work will take place over the next several weeks between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.
  • Traffic and pedestrian disruptions are expected on Elizabeth Street during this time.
  • Three parking spaces around the building will be unavailable to the public during work hours as they will be occupied with moving trucks and contractor vehicles.
  • Traffic control will be present. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes, if possible.
  • Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.

Why is a permit required?

  • Permits help ensure that work within the municipal road allowance is completed safely, properly, and without damage to public infrastructure.
  • They also allow the County to coordinate work, minimize disruptions, and protect the safety of all road users.

Road Occupancy Permit (ROP)

  • A Road Occupancy Permit is required for temporary use or occupation of municipal property, even if no digging or construction is involved.
