The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct watermain repairs at the intersection of Downes Avenue and Simeon Street in Picton on Wednesday, February 19.
- Repairs will begin at approximately 8 am, with an expected completion time of 6 pm.
- Downes Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Simeon Street will be closed with local traffic only permitted for the duration of repairs.
- Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
- Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the construction area may experience an interruption to service, pressure fluctuations and/or coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
