Traffic disruptions on Downes Avenue and Simeon Street (Picton) February 19

February 18, 2025

The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct watermain repairs at the intersection of Downes Avenue and Simeon Street in Picton on Wednesday, February 19.

  • Repairs will begin at approximately 8 am, with an expected completion time of 6 pm.
  • Downes Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Simeon Street will be closed with local traffic only permitted for the duration of repairs.
  • Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
  • Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
  • These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the construction area may experience an interruption to service, pressure fluctuations and/or coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
  • If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
