Unofficial results of 2022 municipal election now available

October 25, 2022

Picton, ON – More than 11,000 ballots were cast – approximately 46 % of the total electorate –in this year’s municipal election.

Here are the unofficial results of the 2022 municipal election:

Mayor

  • Steve Ferguson was elected Mayor

County Councillors

  • Phil St-Jean and Kate MacNaughton were elected in Ward 1 (Picton)
  • Phil Prinzen and Brad Neiman were elected in Ward 2 (Bloomfield/Hallowell)
  • Corey Engelsdorfer was elected in Ward 3 (Wellington)
  • Janice Maynard, Roy Pennell, and Sam Grosso were elected in Ward 4 (Ameliasburgh)
  • Sam Branderhorst was elected in Ward 5 (Athol)
  • Bill Roberts was elected in Ward 6 (Sophiasburgh)
  • Chris Braney was elected in Ward 7 (Hillier)
  • David Harrison was elected in Ward 8 (North Marysburgh)
  • John Hirsch was elected in Ward 9 (South Marysburgh)

English Language Public School Board Trustees

  • Stacey Lewis was elected in Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board – Wards 1, 2, 5, 8 and 9
  • Rachael Prinzen was elected in Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board – Wards 3, 4, 6 and 7

English Language Separate School Board Trustee

  • Jacqueline Fernandes was acclaimed in Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board

French Language Public School Board Trustee

  • Rachel Laforest was acclaimed in Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario 

French Language Separate School Board Trustee

  • Michel Charron was acclaimed in Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est Trustee

The unofficial 2022 election results are also posted on www.thecounty.ca/Elections2022.

The County Clerk will declare the results official on Wednesday, October 26 after checking the results and making sure that all votes have been counted properly. The official results will be posted to www.thecounty.ca/government/election-2022/.
