Voluntary road toll in Picton on November 28 to support school nutrition program

Through partnership with The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation, A voluntary road toll will be in place in Picton on Tuesday, November 28 for the “Feed the Meter” campaign.

  • The toll will be set up at the intersection of Lake Street, Talbot Street, and County Road 33.
  • All proceeds collected during the toll will help support the Food for Learning program that works to ensure all local students have daily access to healthy nutritious food while at school.
  • Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

Feed the Meter returns throughout December

  • In addition to the voluntary road toll, the Feed the Meter campaign to support the Food for Learning program returns in December.
  • While parking in Picton is free beginning December 1, drivers are encouraged to “feed the meter” during the month with all money going to Food for Learning.
  • Free parking in Picton, both along Picton Main Street and Market Lane, will continue until March 31, 2024.
