Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics planned for Thursdays throughout March

March 8, 2022

Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics will continue at the Prince Edward Community Centre (PECC, 375 Picton Main Street) from noon to 6 pm on Thursdays in March.

The vaccination clinics are an easy and convenient way to get your COVID-19 vaccine. The wait time to get your vaccine at these clinics is minimal.

Vaccination clinics at PECC will be held on the following dates:

  • Thursday, March 10
  • Thursday, March 17
  • Thursday, March 24
  • Thursday, March 31

People aged 5 and over who are eligible for their first, second or third dose of the vaccine are welcome to attend the vaccine clinic in Picton without an appointment. Walk-ins should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the end of the scheduled clinic and should bring their Ontario health card.

Research from around the world has shown the importance of getting three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Three doses are better than two doses at:

  • Protecting you from getting COVID
  • Stopping you from spreading COVID
  • Protecting you from getting so sick from COVID that you have to go to hospital
  • Decrease your risk of dying from COVID. To date, 44 people in the Quinte region have died from COVID, and many continue to live with the ongoing effects of COVID infection.

Two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine do not work as well as three doses against Omicron, the dominant COVID variant. Protection from two doses starts to decrease around three months.
