December 24, 2024
The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct watermain repairs on Niles Street between Lake Breeze Court and Maple Street in Wellington.
- Work will begin at 9 am on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, with an expected completion time of 7 pm
- Customers in that work area may experience reduced water pressure until the repair is complete.
- Traffic on Niles Street may be reduced to one lane. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and take alternate routes.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Niles Street between Lake Breeze Court Street and Maple Street may experience a temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
- Pedestrians and motorists are asked to approach the site with caution or avoid the construction area if possible.
