Watermain repair on Wellington Main Street December 24

December 23, 2024

December 23, 2024

The Water and Wastewater Department will be making watermain repairs on Wellington Main Street between Wharf Street and Maple Street on Tuesday, December 24.

  • Work will begin at 7 am on Tuesday, December 24, with an expected completion time of 5 pm
  • Customers in that work area may experience reduced water pressure overnight until the repair is complete.
  • Traffic on Wellington Main Street Street may be reduced to one lane during the repairs. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair. Pedestrians and motorists are asked to approach the site with caution or avoid the construction area if possible.
  • These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Wellington Main Street between Wharf Street and Maple Street may experience a temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
  • If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 ext. 1023, 613.962.9108 ext. 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
