- The Water and Wastewater Department will be working to conduct water main repairs at the intersection of East Mary Street and Bridge Street in Picton.
- Repairs will begin Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 8am, with an expected completion time of 6pm the same day.
- East Mary Street will be open to local traffic only from York Street. East Mary Street will be closed at the intersection of Bridge Street while repairs are underway. Traffic control will be in place. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and take alternate routes.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents on Bridge Street between Main Street and Union Street may experience temporary loss of water service, intermittent pressure fluctuations and coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once repairs are complete and water service is restored.
