Winter is here — do your part to help keep the roads clear

December 8, 2025

Winter driving and snowplowing can be dangerous, especially when cars are parked improperly or when snow is shoved onto the roadway.

The County of Prince Edward reminds drivers and people clearing snow to follow safety rules so everyone, including road workers, stays safe this winter.

  • Snow and ice may not be shoved into or across any roadway. This is critical for public safety and preventing accidents.
  • Vehicles may not park on roadways in a manner that interferes with the clearing of snow.
  • As of December 1, no parking is allowed on any streets or highways in the County of Prince Edward between the hours of 12 am and 6 am. The overnight parking restrictions will remain in effect until March 31, 2026.
  • The winter parking restriction includes all municipal parking lots, except in the following areas posted with winter parking sections:
    • Mary Street parking lot (Picton): spaces in the first row to the Ieft of the entrance are designated for overnight parking.
    • 55 King Street parking lot (Picton): overnight parking is permitted along the east side of the lot on even-numbered days and along the west side of the lot on odd-numbered days.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023, or info@pecounty.on.ca.
