On-Demand Public Transit
Rides on Demand – County Transit’s New App!
What is Rides on Demand?
Rides on Demand is a new, convenient transit option for everyone in Prince Edward County, offering flexible, car-free travel with just a few taps on your phone. This app, developed by TripSpark, allows you to book rides within the County on our specialized transit service. Whether you’re heading to an appointment, running errands, or exploring the area, Rides on Demand makes it easy to get there!
How Does It Work?
The Rides on Demand app by TripSpark may be downloaded to your mobile device. Click here for Android. Click here for iOS Apple. The app allows you to check ride availability and book your trip. The app offers real-time scheduling options Monday through Friday, from 6:15 AM to 6:00 PM. Users can request a ride through the app, which will notify them if a seat is available on a transit vehicle that matches their route. If the schedule works, you can book a seat for a flat rate of $5, regardless of distance. Like “rush seating” at an event, non-specialized riders can fill available seats on specialized buses at a discount. However, since these buses prioritize specialized riders, non-specialized passengers may need to be flexible with their route and timing.
Non-specialized clients are not entitled to door-to-door service or priority routing and scheduling. The $5 flat rate is designed to keep fares predictable and affordable, reflecting the flexibility required from riders.
Need help getting started? Call our friendly team at Quinte Transit for assistance or to book a ride over the phone. They can be reached at (613) 392-9640 or toll-free at 1 (855)283-9640.
How Much Does It Cost?
Enjoy affordable travel at a flat rate of just $5 per ride throughout Prince Edward County. If you have a monthly transit pass, rides on the app are included at no additional cost!
How do I get to Belleville?
Rides on Demand makes it easy! Book a ride to one of our convenient fixed-route stops in Picton or Bloomfield, where you can transfer onto a Belleville-bound bus. Our service provides a smooth, reliable way to connect with nearby communities without the hassle of parking or extra driving.
How is This Possible?
This innovative new service is made possible through our partnership with Quinte Transit, the County’s transit provider. By integrating with specialized transit, we’re able to offer Rides on Demand at an incredibly affordable rate. Quinte Transit’s vehicles are already traveling throughout the County to serve registered residents with disabilities and those over the age of 55. Now, with the app, you can book a seat on these routes and enjoy convenient, low-cost travel around The County. While the service is budget-friendly and easy to use, a little flexibility in your travel schedule might be needed to catch an available ride.
No smartphone? No problem!
If you’d prefer not to use the app, you can still book by calling Quinte Transit a day in advance. Be prepared to tell them on the phone or by voice mail your preferred pick-up time, location within Prince Edward County, and destination, and they’ll help you plan your ride.

Why Choose Rides on Demand?
Convenience
Book trips quickly and easily from your smartphone.
Flexibility
Arrange rides up to 3 days in advance or as soon as an hour before.
Accessibility
All vehicles are fully accessible for everyone in the community.
