Macaulay Heritage Park museum closure extended into April

March 31, 2026

The museum at Macaulay Heritage Park (located within the former church building at 23 Church Street, Picton) will remain closed for roofing work and repairs until Wednesday, April 15.

The museum was originally scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, April 1.

  • This work is dependent on weather conditions. If adjustments to the timeline are required, the municipality will inform the public. In addition, follow the County on Facebook and Twitter/X.
  • During this time, Macaulay House at 35 Church Street in Picton will remain open regular hours, Wednesday to Sunday from 1 – 4 pm.
    • On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in April visitors to Macaulay House will be able to connect with writer-in-residence, Linda Holmes Bond. Linda is a well-known local author and supporter of the arts in the community, whose husband lived at Macaulay house!
  • The Wellington Heritage Museum (290 Wellington Main Street) will be closed from Wednesday, April 1 to Friday, April 10 for scheduled maintenance work.
  • On Saturday, April 4 the Ameliasburgh Recreation Committee will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ameliasburgh Heritage Village(517 County Road 19, Ameliasburgh) from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.
  • No road closures will take place to support this work.
